Property owners are responsible for identifying and disclosing private or undocumented utility lines and site conditions that may not be located through standard utility-locating services.

Client Responsibilities

Before work begins, the property owner or authorized representative should:

  • Contact 811 as required for utility locating.
  • Provide information regarding known private utility lines.
  • Identify wells, septic systems, irrigation lines, underground electrical, gas, water, or other site-specific utilities.
  • Disclose known site hazards or conditions that may affect demolition.
  • Provide access to the property and work area.

Important

"Utility locating does not necessarily identify privately owned or undocumented lines. Additional investigation may be required depending on site conditions and project scope."
